The term "sacred" has been with humankind since the primary distinction apparently occurred. Since the First Time repeated attempts have been made by various beings throughout the universe to recreate the First Space which is co-emergent with it. This co-emergence is the doorway into a reality beyond duality. Planet Earth is riddled with artefacts attempting to reach this doorway, many in rather crude and unsophisticated ways. Most humans living today have either had direct contact with one or more of these sacred artefacts, or at the very least have encountered their references. With regard to the spectrum of human consciousness what are all these so-called "sacred spaces" really meant for? Well, go back into the deep dark "past" or "future", to where the "sacred space" was/shall be first/finally developed and one comes to the idea of simulation, or "like is to like and eventually like becomes like". What were the first sacred spaces? Probably (in terms of exterior formations) caves or holes or something similar. Refuges with emotional connotations. And after awhile, other connections and correspondences were developed as well. These special artefacts, large and small, were sometimes imprinted with specific types of knowledge about the Real. For example, suppose that in the "primitive" shamanic manifestation of conscious being, the sha-man/woman acts as a guide for setting up the appropriate conditions whereby the being conscious simulates a shift in being conscious through an inner symbolic non-identification with what one usually "is" to that which one usually "is not", within the control environment deemed "safe" by the guide of that particular space. Suppose the cave or temple or whatever is specifically meant to resonate with the skull (the shape of the structure is hemispherical). The participants are prepared by the guide to be able to suspend disbelief and judgment long enough to carry out the experiment within the exact parameters deemed necessary to bring about the appropriate shift in being conscious. In no time at all it works! One and all are no longer conscious from the point of view of being just bodies and a limited set of sensory receptors and processes which are continually having to survive, but instead one and all in the space find that all everyday-experience, including all bodies, the knowledge of the world via the various organs, nervous systems, etc., is only a simulation, a model within their own being conscious. And this simulation of bodies, etc., etc., is now seen to be located within the cranium, and the entire universe to the farther-most quasar and the most immediate hyper-hyper quark is now within the confines of one's own cranium, represented by the temple, which itself is a simulation within a simulation of a simulation. And it can go much much deeper. Each space would be able to help bring about different sets and orders of simulation/transformation..
